2023 Year in review

What an amazing year!
We had a record number of kids join our club.  54 members!
We started off the year in April with the Coon Lake Clean up. Where members gathered to pick up trash around the Coon Lake boat ramp and Anoka County Park. a total of 33 bags of trash were picked up from Coon Lake and other boat ramps in April.
2023 was the Bassinators 20th Season. We Celebrated with a Banquet and silent auction on April 22nd. There was over 100 former and current Bassinators and supporters in attendance.
We then had a 2 week Virtual, multi species tournament in May. We had 5 categories. Biggest Bass, Biggest Pike, Biggest Walleye, Biggest Sunfish, Biggest Bonus species, Plus the Grand Slam Award for the combined inches of biggest bass, pike and walleye.
We then had 1 tournament a month from June to October.  We gave away prizes at each tournament to every kid. We kept track of points and awarded spots to the 2024 TBF Junior World Championship to the top 4 kids.
In Late August, we had a fun swim day, where 4 Bassinators went Tubing and swimming.
We had our last tournament TOC in October where we cooked pizza gave away a ton of prizes to our youth members.
Our final event of the year was Coach Jeffrey’s Birthday at Feed My Starving Children where we had 4 Bassinators along with 6 of their family members pack 20,952 meals for kids in the Dominican Republic.
2023 STATS:
5 Tournaments
126 Kids participated.
387 Bass caught and released.
19.75 inch- Biggest Bass of the year
84.5 inch- Biggest Bag of 5 Bass of the year
4 kids sent to the 2024 JWC.
We awarded a $500 Educational Scholarship to a team at our TOC!
3 Bassinators Teams fished the 2023 TBF JWC on Sooner Lake, Oklahoma
5 Bassinators Teams fished the Minnetonka Jr Trail. 1 team taking 1st place at a tournament and also winning Big Bass
6 Bassinators Teams fished the B.A.T.S. Trail. One team qualified for the 2024 TBF JWC
5 Former Bassinators were Volunteer Boat Captains.
